Family Business Academic Global Immersion (AGI)

Family Business AGI (BUS477-CD/CEL) is a week-long spring break immersion in Cali, Columbia. It carries a cultural diversity (CD) designation for those who need the associated graduation credits.

This course is designed to build on family business theory learned in BUS378. Students will move from theory to practice with a combination of classroom learning and fieldwork with family-owned businesses in Cali.

All work is in collaboration with local undergraduate students from the Javiera University-Cali. Both sets of learners will be together for all course work. They’ll learn from each other while they explore the power dynamics and systems of oppression affecting family businesses in the US and Colombia.
